A massive fire has broken out at Dubai's 1,105ft tall Torch Tower, writes The Independent

The blaze is thought to have started at around 1am local time (10pm BST) before shooting up one side of the 86-storey building.
Footage captured from the scene shows the flames illuminating the night's sky with debris cascading down onto the streets below.

A fire ripped through one of the world’s tallest residential towers in Dubai on Thursday night, sending panicked residents fleeing from the building.

Debris could be seen spiralling to the ground across the famous Marina district of the city as the fire consumed multiple floors of the Torch Tower after midnight.

National Construction Control Directorate to Conduct an Inspection of Residential Buildings

Bulgaria's Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Nikolai Nakov, on 27th of June ordered the National Construction Control Directorate to conduct an inspection of residential buildings on which cladding has been put under a national energy efficiency programme, reported BNT.

Five tower blocks in Camden to be evacuated over cladding

More than 800 homes in tower blocks on a council estate in Camden, north London, are be evacuated because of safety concerns over cladding in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Camden Council says residents in flats in five towers on the Chalcots estate will be moved for “urgent fire safety works”.

Grenfell Tower fire: Manufacturer of cladding identified as Omnis Exteriors

Material used in the cladding that covered the Grenfell Tower was the cheaper, more flammable version of two options, an investigation of the supply chain has confirmed.

A company called Omnis Exteriors manufactured the aluminium composite material (ACM) used in the cladding, director John Cowley confirmed to The Guardian.
