Tragic accident claims life of 61-year-old man in Crete
A 61-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being crushed by a tractor for unknown reasons while working in his field in the Malades area of Heraklion, Crete, on Friday.
He was immediately transported to the Venizeleio Hospital of Heraklion with severe injuries.
Despite medical efforts, approximately 24 hours after the accident, he passed away.

Evacuation recommendation issued as large wildfire breaks out on Crete
Residents in four villages in Crete have been recommended to evacuate as firefighters battle a large wildfire in a mountainous area northeast of Ierapetra.
Strong northerly winds are fanning the blaze, which broke out near Schinokapsala, in Lasithi regional unit, pushing the fire towards populated areas on the southern coast.
Thirty-seven migrants rescued off Gavdos
Greece's Coast Guard said on Thursday it had rescued 37 migrants from a vessel off the southern coast of Crete.
The migrants were found on Wednesday night 18 nautical miles southeast of the small island of Gavdos. They were all collected by a container ship sailing nearby before they were transported by the Coast Guard to the port of Paleochora, near Chania.

29 migrants rescued off coast of Gavdos
A further 29 migrants have been rescued off the coast of Gavdos, south of Crete.
The boat carrying the migrants was spotted at noon, some 23.5 nautical miles south of the island.
The migrants were picked up by a cargo ship and are currently being transported to Paleochora in Crete.

Migrant arrivals on Gavdos, Crete continue unabated
