Mobile App Empowers Victims of Domestic Violence in Bulgaria

A new mobile application has been launched in Bulgaria, offering crucial assistance and support to victims in need. Developed under a project by the National Legal Aid Office and funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, the app provides a lifeline for those facing domestic abuse.

Woman attempts suicide after attack from husband

A 36-year-old woman in the town of Aigio, western Greece, tried to commit suicide by taking an unknown number of pills after she was attacked by her husband. 

The 39-year-old husband was arrested and is facing charges of domestic violence. 

Police was alerted to the suicide attempt by the local hospital where she was transferred for treatment. 

Spike in domestic violence reports raises concerns in Greece

Authorities have received a flurry of reports regarding incidents of domestic violence since Monday. A total of 142 complaints have been filed, resulting in 54 arrests. 

The spike in reports follows the recent femicide in Agioi Anargyroi, where Kyriaki Griva tragically lost her life, allegedly murdered by her former partner right outside the police station.
