German food delivery firm Delivery Hero, which also owns Turkey's leading food ordering giant Yemeksepeti, successfully dipped its first toe into the Frankfurt stock market on June 30, in an initial public offering highly anticipated by investors.

A new study by analyst firm App Annie suggests the global mobile app economy was worth $1.3 trillion last year and is poised to skyrocket to $6.3 trillion by 2021 as users spend more money on apps, in-app purchases, and mobile commerce.

Microsoft will continue to invest in retail sales operations in Turkey in order to establish direct contact with more local consumers, according to a Microsoft Turkey executive.

The total value of online credit card payments in Turkey rose by 46 percent annually to 8.5 billion Turkish Liras (around $2.4 billion) in May, the country's Interbank Card Center (BKM) announced on June 20.        

Online payments accounted for 15 percent of total card payments in May, the BKM noted.        

Month after month the use of credit and debit cards in everyday transactions is setting a new record, as taxpayers become increasingly accustomed to using plastic money.

Every day from late June, 50 lucky Greek shoppers who use their credit or debit cards for payments at stores across the country will win credit for future purchases, as the Finance Ministry tries to contain the drop in tax revenues by adding to the incentives to make consumers ask for receipts.
