Cyprus announces drilling barrage

With Nicosia seeking to consolidate its sovereign rights in view of Turkey's stance in the Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus Energy Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis announced on Tuesday that the country will conduct eight drillings, six exploratory and two confirmatory, in specific areas of its exclusive economic zone (EEZ) over the next 24 months, without revealing exactly where.

Corinth Pipeworks to supply pipes for Greece-Bulgaria gas link

Corinth Pipeworks, part of Cenergy Holdings, has won a 58.2 million euro ($65.39 million) tender to supply line pipes for a gas interconnector link between Bulgaria and Greece, project company ICGB said.
The Greek pipe maker was one of three pre-selected contenders, one of which withdrew from the process and the other did not meet technical requirements, ICGB said in a statement.

Total, ENI reportedly granted Cyprus Block 7

Total and ENI are expanding their presence in the Cypriot EEZ according to government sources. The French-Italian consortium has been allocated the exploration licence for Block 7 according to unofficial information obtained by the Cyprus News Agency.
The same sources reported that the French and Italian partnership can be extended to other Blocks of the Cyprus EEZ.

Experts Have Called For a Eeduction in the Politicization of the Energy Sector

To reduce the politicization of the energy sector, experts from Russia, Serbia and Turkey called for a discussion in Sofia on the development of gas projects in the Balkans.

Consortium between the Italian Arkad ABB S.p.A. and the Saudi Arkad Engineering & Construction Company has been named the winner of the tender for the expansion of Bulgaria's gas transmission system. This is announced by the national gas transport operator "Bulgartransgaz".
