A unique dance performance, billed as the first of its kinds, will take place… six meters under the waters off an Athens-area coastal resort near Cape Sounion later this month.

A 30-year old man was put in custody on charges for a series of thefts and attempted thefts in Greek monasteries and churches on the island of Rhodes. He appeared before the Rhodes prosecutor claimed that he was at home during the alleged thefts, but his alibi was unconvincing to and the court ordered his incarceration.

Five Greek islands in the eastern Aegean are bearing the brunt of the migration wave, according to data made public by the port authorities.

At least 12 migrants, believed to be Syrians, became the latest victims of a worsening refugee crisis when two boats sank after leaving southwestern Turkey for the Greek island of Kos on Sept. 2.  

The police in the Greek city of Thessaloniki detained a Bulgarian citizen for illegal trafficking of immigrants with a truck carrying 103 people, 19 of whom children.

According to media reports, each of the refugees had paid EUR 2000 for being transported across the border.

Corinth Vice-Mayor P. Kalliris invited volunteers to change the face of the bridge over the Corinth Isthmus on September 1 by painting it bright yellow. Photos were taken by Mayor Petros Tatoulis who worked side by side with the volunteers. The only smirch to the selfless act of charity was a document stating that the “free” work had already been commissioned for 24.6 million euros:
