Minister drafts amendment to rehire some 3,900 state workers
Alternate Minister for Administrative Reform Giorgos Katrougalos has drafted an amendment that will reinstate thousands of civil sector workers who were sacked or placed in a labor mobility scheme by the previous conservative administration as part of cost-cutting measures.
European court charges Greece over detention of five men
The European Court of Human Rights on Thursday ordered Greece to pay a total of 82,600 euros in compensation to 5 applicants who filed complaints with regard to the conditions of their detention in Korydallos, Larissa and Diavata prisons.
Last two witnesses give evidence in Greek soccer corruption trial
AEK soccer club chairman Dimitris Melissanidis was on Tuesday the latest witness to be called to give evidence as part of a trial into corruption in the sport.
The businessman was the penultimate witness.

Former finance minister due to face special court on Feb 25
A special court is due to begin hearing the case on February 25 against former Finance Minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou, who stands accused of doctoring a list of Greeks with deposits in Switzerland and removing the names of three relatives. He also faces charges of embezzlement against the state.
