Berlin Summit: The World Leaders Reached an Agreement on Libya
The West countries, Russia and the Arab countries have reached an agreement on Libya. Following the meeting in Berlin, it was announced that the world leaders agreed to uphold a UN arms embargo and end military backing for the North African country's warring factions.
Libya players agree to respect arms embargo, push cease-fire
World powers and other countries with interests in Libya's long-running civil war agreed on Jan. 19 to respect a much-violated arms embargo, hold off on military support to the warring parties and push them to reach a full cease-fire, German and U.N. leaders said.
Erdoğan meets with Putin ahead of summit
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin met on Jan. 19 in Berlin ahead of Germany-led summit for Libya.
Erdoğan and Putin met in Berlin on the sidelines of the summit for Libya. The meeting started at 3 p.m. local time and lasted for about one hour.

Erdoğan calls on Europe to support Turkey's moves in Libya
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on Europe to support its work in Libya, where it is providing military support to the internationally-recognized government, if it wants to end the conflict there.
Erdoğan made his remarks in a column published on the Politico website on Jan. 18, ahead of a summit in Berlin on Jan. 19 that will try to stabilize the country.
Turkey-Libya deal invalid, Haftar tells Greek PM
The agreement on maritime boundaries in the Mediterranean signed between Turkey and the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) is in violation of international law and is therefore invalid, Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar said after a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens on Friday.

Libya’s Haftar in Greek capital for talks
Libya's Khalifa Haftar, commander of eastern Libyan forces, arrived in Athens Thursday and was expected to have talks there on Friday with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias during a stopover on his way to Berlin for a conference on the Libya crisis.
