Epidemiological situation in Serbia normal
BELGRADE - The floods in Serbia have not led to an increased occurrence of infectious intestinal diseases, but a certain amount of risk is still there, Bojana Grgic, head of the Department for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control at the Milan Jovanovic Batut Public Health Institute, told Tanjug on Friday.

AB supermarket chain recalls bio wafer brand
The AB Vassilopoulos supermarket chain on Thursday announced that it was removing a corn wafer product trading under the name AB BIO, with an expiry date of 27/01/2015, from its shelves after tests on samples revealed high traces of vomitoxin, also known as deoxynivalenol, or DON.

Bulgarian Medical Workers Stage Protest against Funding Shortfall
Bulgarian healthcare workers across the country are staging a one-hour symbolic protest against the insufficient funding for the sector.
The protest is part of an EU-wide initiative aimed at demanding better working conditions, better pay for medical workers and an efficient fight against corruption in the sector.

Medical laboratories reach agreement with health minister
Staff at clinical laboratories working with Greeces main health provider, EOPYY, are expected to end the suspension of their activities and return to providing their services to insured patients following a meeting with Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis on Wednesday.
The meeting was the third between the two parties.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- Kosovska Mitrovica Healthcare Center head Milan Ivanović said on Tuesday their surgical and blood transfusion program "was under threat."
The reason, Ivanović stated, was the fact "Kosovo customs had confiscated medicines a few days earlier."

1500 Bulgarian School-Leavers Donate Their Prom Money to Sick Children
Around 1500 school-leavers from 11 Bulgarian high schools donated their prom money to the “Butterfly children”, said the Destructive Creation art group.

Deadly Yugoslav Snakes Spark Panic in London

But, according to the London Independent, at least 30 tree-climbing Aesculupian snakes, which hail from the Balkans and can grow up to two metres in length, have been spotted in recent weeks in the Regent’s Canal area, which adjoins London Zoo.
