Turkish automotive production rose 20 percent year on year to 869,158 vehicles in the first half, with output up 8 percent to 141,161 vehicles in June, Turkey's automotive producers' body said.

Car manufacturers have dominated Turkey's largest 500 industrial companies list with a total of five automotive firms taking place in the top 10 list by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO), making more than 60 billion Turkish Liras ($17 billion) in sales revenue last year. 

Turkey's car and light commercial vehicle sales in January grew 8 percent compared to the same month in 2016, the Automotive  Distributors' Association said on Feb. 2.

Turkish automotive exports surged 32 percent in the first two months of the year, the Automotive Manufacturers' Association said in a statement on March 12.

From January to February 2015, auto exports reached 99,000, according to the statement.
