The names, addresses, passwords and healthcare records of around 15 million Canadians may have been breached in a cyberattack on LifeLabs, the country's largest independent healthcare clinic, the company said on Dec. 18.

That is about 40 percent of the population of Canada, and most of the clients affected live in the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia.

The personal data of 106 million people in the United States and Canada were stolen after a hacker attack by a US financial company.

The information was confirmed by its representatives, stating that the hacker had made the breakthrough, had already been arrested. Data indicate that the attack took place on July 19th.

The 20-year-old computer specialist, arrested in connection with an unprecedented cyber attack against the National Revenue Agency, has previously attacked state institutions, bTV reports.

The hacker who is behind the cyber attack against the NRA has sent a letter to the media. On Monday, it was understood that 5 million Bulgarian's data was revealed from the Agency's system, NOVA wrote.

Bulgarian Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov confirmed on Tuesday that hackers have stolen many Bulgarians' personal financial data by breaking into the country's electronic tax refund system.

Goranov insisted the data stolen does not include classified information and does not "constitute a threat to financial security".

Naive or careless people have still been misled to pay large amounts of money to online fraudsters, a Bulgarian cyber security chief said here on Wednesday, reports Xinhua. 

The cyber-attack was committed by another country, reported NOVA TV. 

A massive hacker attack has been committed against the major political parties in Australia. 

However, there is no evidence that hackers have intervened in the elections which are going to be held in a month. The attack was directed against parliamentary servers.

Police have questioned witnesses as part of the investigation into a data breach affecting German politicians. The home of a 19-year-old man who had contact with the suspected hacker was also reportedly searched, reported DW.

AFP - The security breach revealed on September 28 by Facebook affected tens of millions of accounts at the social network, which boasts more than 2.2 billion monthly users.

On Wednesday, the Irish data authority said it was opening up a formal investigation into whether the world's biggest social network complied with tough new EU privacy regulations.
