Turkey's state of emergency likely to be extend with new ministers

One day after the Sept. 22 meeting between Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) head Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the CHP officially appealed to the Constitutional Court for the annulment of decree laws issued by the government since late July.

AKP, CHP in dispute over state of emergency extension

The leaders of Turkey's ruling and main opposition party disagreed over the government's plan to extend the state of emergency for another term at a face-to-face meeting on Sept. 22, when the latter raised his concerns over the growing number of complaints of "reckless measures" resulting from decree laws in the aftermath of the failed coup attempt of July 15. 

PM seeks to defuse CHP's concern about post-coup victims

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has sought to defuse the concerns of the Republican People's Party (CHP) head after the main opposition leader gave voice to thousands of people who have suffered from the government's zealous efforts to clear the civil service of suspected members of the Gülenists after the July 15 coup attempt. 

CHP urges fair trial, cites 1 million sufferers in post-coup process

The number of people who have suffered from the government's "reckless measures" against suspected Gülenists within the civil service has hit 1 million, the main opposition leader has said, urging the government to once again embrace the principle of a fair trial for those who have been accused of staging the July 15 coup attempt and their associates.
