Turkish intel ‘neutralizes’ senior PKK/YPG terrorist

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has "neutralized" a so-called leader of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization in Syria, who was wanted under the "green category."

Security sources on March 22 revealed that the Turkish intel previously uncovered the terrorist activities and connections of Halil Tekin, code-named Seydo, before the operation in the Qamishli region.

Turkish soldier killed in PKK attack in northern Iraq

A Turkish soldier was killed in a harassment and infiltration attempt by the PKK terrorist organization in a cross-border operation zone in northern Iraq, Defense Ministry announced on March 19. 

The written statement said that the PKK terrorists' attempt in the Operation Claw-Lock zone also resulted in the injury of four Turkish soldiers.

Minister vows continued fight against terrorism in Iraq's north

Defense Minister Yaşar Güler has insisted that Turkish troops will remain in northern Iraq until the terror threat, particularly from the PKK, is eliminated.

"Everyone knows that Türkiye needs to move to another phase [in the fight against terrorism]," Güler said during a gathering with reporters in the capital Ankara on March 10.
