Thessaloniki family face charges for abduction, procurement

A family of three have been accused of keeping a 30-year-old woman in their Thessaloniki apartment against her will and forcing her to have sex with men for money.

The three accused are a 38-year-old man, his 35-year-old wife and their 19-year-old son.

The victim is aged 30.

All four are from Bulgaria.

Prostitution, Drugs To Be Included In Bulgaria's GDP

Bulgaria's National Statistics Institute (NSI) will start calculating the country's GDP by a new method - European System Of Accounts 2010, reports Dnevnik.bg.

"The method includes data for "hidden economy" such as prostitution and narcotics trade", said the head of the Macroeconomic statistics department of NSI Elka Atanasova at a news conference.

Police make six arrests at Athens brothels

Six women working as prostitutes were arrested during checks on brothels in Athens on Wednesday.

Officers from the police department that combats human trafficking inspected three brothels in the city.

Two of the six women arrested were discovered not to have residence papers.

The others face other charges relating to prostitution.

Man arrested in Grevena for raping, pimping mentally disabled woman

A 58-year-old man was arrested in Grevena, northern Greece, on Saturday on suspicion of raping a 28-year-old mentally disabled woman and forcing her to have sex with other men.

The woman had gone missing from her home in nearby Florina around a month earlier.

Police said that the suspect forced the 28-year-old to leave with him and live in his house.

Athens police crack prostitution ring following 5 arrests

Police in Athens said on Wednesday that they had cracked a prostitution racket following the arrest of three suspects believed to have played a leading role in the organization – two Greeks and one Romanian national – and two of the women believed to have worked as sex workers, a Russian and a Romanian woman.
