The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg ruled on Tuesday that the Romanian state is breaching article eight of the European Convention on Human Rights - the right to respect for private and family life - by not allowing same-sex couples to marry or register civil partnerships.

Ljubljana – The National Assembly signed same-sex marriage and adoptions into law by passing changes to the family code by 48 votes in favour and 29 against on Tuesday, capping decades of efforts by LGBT+ groups and activists to end discrimination and be recognised as equal members of society.

A Bulgarian court has backed the right of a same-sex married couple to reside in the country for the first time in a landmark ruling.
