VIDEO: Baby adrift at sea saved by coast guard in Turkey's west

A 10-month-old baby drifted a kilometer from the coastline of Turkey's northwestern Çanakkale province until a coast guard boat arrived to save her on July 3.

Melda Ilg?n was placed in an inflatable ring by her mother in the Ayvac?k district of Çanakkale, on the southern coast of the Dardanelles, before she was swept away.

Two reported missing after speedboat capsizes in Istanbul's Bosphorus

Two people have been reported missing after a speedboat capsized in Istanbul's Bosphorus strait, crashing into the pier of a waterside cottage early June 28. 

The speedboat capsized around 4:30 a.m. off Anadoluhisar?, a coastal neighborhood in Beykoz, a district in Istanbul's Anatolian side, after it crashed into the pier of the historical Hekimba?? cottage. 

VIDEO: Cruise liner collides with tanker off Gallipoli

A cruise ship has collided with a tanker off Gallipoli while crossing Turkey's Dardanelles Strait.

"Louis Cristal," a 162-meter-long cruise ship registered in Malta, was travelling from Greece to Istanbul when it collided early June 27 with "STI Pimlico," a 182-meter-long tanker registered in Marshall Islands, which had left Russia for Malta, Do?an News Agency reported.

Istanbul's Third Bosphorus Bridge link road tender postponed again

A tender for the link roads within the scope of the Northern Marmara Highway project, which includes the under-construction third bridge over the Bosphorus, has been postponed yet again, as the interested parties need more time to finalize their proposals, according to an announcement by the General Directorate of Highways.

Illegal shorefront constructions demolished in central Istanbul

Several illegally constructed cafes and restaurants on the shoreline of a market place in Istanbul's Beyo?lu district were demolished early on June 22.

A demolishing team from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality bulldozed a number of workplaces including restaurants and cafes at the seaside of Per?embe Bazaar, located in the rapidly changing Karaköy neighborhood of Beyo?lu.
