US probes five child deaths, 109 cases linked to mystery liver disease
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating 109 childhood cases of a mysterious form of hepatitis, including five reported deaths, the agency said on May 6.

No COVID test requirement for entry to Greece, Kyrgyzstan
Greece and Kyrgyzstan have scrapped the requirement for a negative PCR test result upon entry from Turkey, Turkish Airlines announced late on May 2.
The two countries have eased travel restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the national flag-carrier company said on its social media accounts.
Beijing preps COVID-19 hospital spaces, though new cases low
Beijing is preparing new hospital facilities to deal with a spike in COVID-19 cases, even though the numbers of new cases remain low.
State media reported Tuesday a 1,000-bed hospital at Xiaotangshan in the northeastern suburbs built for the 2003 SARS outbreak has been refurbished in case it's needed.
Covid cases down further
Ljubljana – The number of new coronavirus infections dropped to 229 on Sunday, down 99 week-on-week and 248 on the day before. Hospitalisations are up by seven to 88, according to the Health Ministry. The number of Covid patients in intensive care remains at 12. Two more patients have died. In total, 216 patients with Covid are in hospitals, with 24 in intensive care.

Slow decline in coronavirus continues
Ljubljana – Slovenia reported 477 new cases of coronavirus for Saturday, down six percent over the week before, as hospitalisations remained broadly stable. One patient with Covid-19 died. The overall number of patients hospitalised due to Covid rose by five to 81, while the number of ICU case remained unchanged at 12. The 14-day incidence per 100,000 population is at 616.

Some 1,250 Covid cases logged on Thursday
Ljubljana – Slovenia reported 1,251 new coronavirus infections for Thursday as hospitalisations decreased, latest official data shows. The 14-day notification rate per 100,000 of the population has declined by five to 635, but the 7-day average of new cases climbed by 15 to 870.
