River diversion project gets green light to go ahead
A contentious project aimed at diverting Greece's second-longest river, the Acheloos, from western Greece to the heavily farmed Plain of Thessaly, will go ahead after all, it was decided on Saturday following a meeting of State Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and the head of Parliament's public administration committee Maximos Harakopoulos.

Nearly 1.2 million babies born in Turkey in 2019
Almost 1.2 million babies were born in Turkey in 2019, according to data made public by the Interior Ministry's General Directorate of Civil Registration and Citizenship.
Of the 1,180,840 babies born, 8,816 male babies were named Yusuf, and 6,857 male babies were named Eymen.
The most popular names given to female babies were Zeynep, with 13,420, followed by Elif, with 8,586.

Stefanovic: "If Vucic retires as party leader, I will go as well"
Stefanovic added that if Vucic retires from politics, he will do the same.

Greek High Court blocks extradition of Vinnik
The Greek Council of State has temporarily blocked the extradition of Bitcoin wizard and Russian national Alexander Vinnik.
France, Russia, and the United States were vying to have Vinnik handed over to them.
Vinnik wants to be handed over to Russia and the Russian Embassy in Athens made extensive efforts to achieve its goal.

Veteran politician back in hospital with chest pains
Veteran leftist politician Manolis Glezos was rushed to Athens' NIMTS hospital on Monday afternoon after suffering from intense shortness of breath and chest pains, Greek media reported.
This is the second time the 97-year-old second world war resistance fighter has been hospitalized in the past two months.
