Bulgaria: A Woman and a Child Died in a Traffic Accident on the Trakia Highway

A woman and a child died in a serious accident on the Trakia highway, the police in Pazardzhik reported. The accident happened at the 101st kilometer in the lane in the direction of Sofia. Only the driver survived.

According to initial data, a car with German registration crashed, went off the road and caught fire.

The town of Panagyurishte (Pazardzhik district) has met the high criteria to be a European City of Sports in 2022 and has received the prestigious title. This became clear today after an inspection by the non-profit association ACES Europe.

 

Start of School Year in Bulgaria

President Rumen Radev welcomed the students and teachers on the first day of school at Hristo Smirnenski primary school in Pazardzhik.

"The Bulgarian school is more than a temple of knowledge, it is a sacred placve where our children develop awareness of themselves and the surrounding world," Rumen Radev said.

Today at about 11.40 am on the main street in the village of Bratanitsa in Pazardzhik, an employee of the Ministry of Interior with an official car hit an 8-year-old girl on a crossroad, BNR reported.

According to witnesses, the child suddenly jumped on the road.

Teams of local police and an ambulance were sent to the scene.

Door in a School Yard Falls Down, Wounds a Student

A boy was injured after a metal door fell down. The incident happened in the school yard of the Sports School in Pazardzhik on Thursday night at about 8 pm, Darik News and Nova TV reported. The door fell on the child and hit it sideways. The accompanying adults, with the help of occasional passers-by, released him and brought him to the emergency room.

Prime Minister Borissov Inspected the Pazardzhik Station's Reception Building

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov made an inspection of the Pazardzhik station's reception building. It is financed under the Operational Program "Transport" amounting to BGN 3.63 million, of which BGN 3.085 million are from the EU. Pazardzhik Station was completed in 9 months from January to September 2014. Before the start of the project, 231,000 passengers a year passed through the station.

 The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, the Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov, the President / 2012 - 2017 / Rosen Plevneliev, the Mayor of Pazardzhik Todor Popov and the management of the company.
