Poroshenko Will Call NATO Membership Referendum in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has told a German newspaper he considers calling a referendum on whether his country should join NATO.

In an interview with German daily Berliner Morgenpost, he has said the will of Ukrainians must be taken into account, citing an increase in support among Ukrainians for joining the alliance.

BELGRADE - Igor Pavlovsky, Ukraine's deputy defense minister, has confirmed that Kiev-led forces have been on an offensive in eastern Ukraine. In an interview with Radio Sputnik, Russian political analyst Sergei Sudakov asserted that these activities are linked to the new US administration coming to power.

Suddeutsche Zeitung: Berlin blames Kiev for deteriorating situation in Donbass

BELGRADE - Kiev could be deliberately increasing tensions in Donbass, Germany's Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper wrote citing its sources in the German government.

"Berlin believes that Poroshenko is determined to do almost everything to prevent the lifting of sanctions against Russia," the newspaper said.

Marine Le Pen says Crimea's reunification with Russia was legitimate

BELGRADE - Crimea's incorporation into Russia was legitimate, leader of France's National Front, Marine Le Pen, has said.

"I do not think that (Crimea's) reunification (with Russia) was illegitimate," she told the BFM TV network on Tuesday. "A referendum was organized, and residents of Crimea voted to join Russia. I see no grounds whatsoever to question this referendum."

A Moscow court has ruled that the events in February 2014 in Ukraine constitute a state coup, reported TASS.

The decision of the Dorogomilovsky court came after a request on behalf of former Ukrainian deputy Vladimir Oleynik.

The participation of "armed nationalist forces" in the change of the regime is an important factor in the decision of the court.
