Putin "welcomes deployment of armed OSCE observers"
Russian President Vladimir Putin supports the deployment of armed OSCE observers in eastern Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
Putin was in Berlin on Wednesday where he spoke about the implementation of the 2015 Minsk peace agreement with French, German, and Ukrainian leaders.
'No miracles' at Berlin talks on ending Ukraine conflict
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said "no miracles" were achieved on the Ukraine crisis on Oct. 20, but talks with the country's leader and his Russian and French counterparts did lead to some progress on ending a deadlock in the peace process.
Military leader of pro-Russian rebels assassinated
Arseny Pavlov, a military leader of the pro-Russian rebels known by his nom de guerre "Motorola," has been killed in an explosion in Donetsk.
"Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is violating the ceasefire and has declared war on us," said Aleksandr Zakharchenko, who is the prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.

Russia's election results in Crimea not legally valid: Turkish FM
The results of the Russian parliamentary elections in Crimea were not legally valid in the eyes of Turkey, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgiç said on Sept. 23 in a written statement.
Turkey continued to support the territorial integrity of Ukraine, including the Crimean peninsula, said Bilgiç, adding that the weekend's elections were considered within this perspective.
Poroshenko and Clinton on "resisting Russian aggression"
According to his website, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
A statement said that Poroshenko "informed Hillary Clinton about the situation in Donbas" and stressed that "Ukraine today fights for freedom and democratic values, which unite the whole democratic world."
