Nikolic waits for government's proposal to dissolve assembly

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said on Wednesday that he will call early parliamentary elections as soon as the government sends such a request.

After attending a ceremony to mark Military-Medical Academy (VMA) Day, Nikolic, when asked by reporters when this might be, replied: "Ask the government."

"No pressure can force Serbia to recognize Kosovo"

"I trust the UN, to which Serbia has entrusted the care of Kosovo and Metohija in 1999," Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said on Monday.

During a meeting with new UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin and the new chief of the UN Office in Belgrade, Simona-Mirela Miculescu, the president added that he also respects the sovereignty of his own country.

Serbian president attends China's Victory Day parade

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has attended a military parade in Beijing organized to mark the 70th anniversary of victory over fascism.

The Beta agency quoted a statement from Nikolic's cabinet on Thursday to say that the ceremony started with Chinese President Xi Jinping greeting more than 49 heads of state and international organizations who attended.
