Set up court for war crimes in KiM as soon as possible

BELGRADE - The War Crimes Prosecutor's Office and the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) requested on Friday that the special court for war crimes committed in the territory of KiM should be set up as soon as possible so that the offenders could finally be identified and convicted.

New members of top judicial body to be elected in October

Members of Turkey’s top judiciary body, the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK), will change with an election in October when the current members’ term in office expires.

The Supreme Election Board (YSK) has decided on the timetable of the elections, which will officially be announced in the Official Gazette on Aug. 26.

Sofia Court of Appeals Dismisses Mayor of Bulgaria's Vidin

Sofia Court of Appeals has dismissed Gergo Gergov, mayor of the Bulgarian town of Vidin.

The move was demanded by the Prosecutor's Office to avoid a risk of "putting pressure" on witnesses, according to the Bulgarian National Radio.

Prosecutors indicted Gergov after he was arrested in an investigation carried out by the State Agency for National Security (DANS).

Greek soccer officials in refereeing probe to face prosecutor on Sept 15

Eleven soccer officials were on Wednesday given until September 15 before they have to face prosecutor Aristidis Koreas, who is investigating allegations that the draws to decide which match officials were appointed to referee games in Greece’s Super League were fixed.
