"Reports have been filed for three missing and two dead after the disaster in Tsarevo", announced Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov, who held a meeting with the municipality's crisis headquarters. The dead are a man and a woman, the missing are two women and a man.

Two people died in the floods in Tsarevo, the city's mayor told BNT. Two more people are being sought, he added.

Earlier, a search was launched for three people swept away by tidal waves.

It became clear that two of the missing were a woman and her child, who were swept away with their car on a collapsed bridge.

Completely cut out because of the destroyed bridges are Ahtopol, Varvara, Sinemorets and Rezovo. This was made clear by a meeting of the municipal crisis headquarters in Tsarevo with the participation of Burgas Regional Governor Plamen Yanev.

UPDATED: Two people died in the floods in Tsarevo, the Ministry of the Interior announced. This was confirmed by the mayor of the city, Georgi Lapchev.

Another person is missing and is being sought by emergency services.

Turkey and Bulgaria will open a new border gate, a Turkish governor said on Thursday, reports AA. 

"We will open a new border gate in Igneada-Rezovo region," said Osman Bilgin, governor of Turkey's northwestern Kirklareli province.

"After the construction of a highway, we will open [border gate] to trade traffic," Bilgin said, without specifying the date.

Twenty-eight migrants were found in a burning truck near the village of Rezovo close to the Bulgarian - Turkish border, according to BNR.

The burning truck was discovered near a forest road. It had Sofia registration plates and was loaded with gravel. The fire was extinguished by a team of three firefighters. It was the cab of the truck that was burning.
