Terror attack attempt foiled in southeastern Turkey
Turkey foiled a terror attack that targeted Turkish Air Forces' 8th Air Base in southeastern province Diyarbakır, interior ministry sources said on May 19.
Two model planes used during the attempt were neutralized, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said on Twitter.
No casualties reported, noted.

Turkey is currently hosting more than 3.6 million Syrian refugees, the country's interior minister said on March 31.
"The number of Syrians under temporary protection in our country is 3,664,873," Süleyman Soylu said, addressing immigration officials in the northwestern Balıkesir province at an annual evaluation meeting.
Turkish, German interior ministers hold security talks
The Turkish and German interior ministers discussed key issues, including terrorism, immigration, and security, in recently held talks, according to an official statement on March 27.
The meeting via video link was held on March 25 between Süleyman Soylu and his German counterpart Horst Seehofer, said Turkey's Interior Ministry.
Deceased mother of interior minister laid to rest
A funeral was held on March 14 for Servet Soylu, Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu's mother, who died on March 13 at the age of 75 due to heart failure.
She had been treated in a private hospital in Istanbul for a while.
After a funeral prayer held in the Gaziosmanpaşa Central Mosque following the noon prayer, Servet Soylu was buried in Istanbul's Eyüpsultan Cemetery.

Prosecutor launches investigation on HDP lawmakers
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Dirayet Dilan Taşdemir on charges of being a member of an armed terrorist organization after Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu claimed that she visited northern Iraq's Gara region where 13 Turks were killed.

Turkey became a model country whose policies give hope to millions of people in its region, according to the nation's interior minister.
