Nordic Centre wins top architecture prize

The award will be split between several architects who were responsible for various aspects of the Planica Nordic Centre, a EUR 40m EU-subsidised facility that was inaugurated late last year.

Located in the north-west of the country, the complex features a ski-flying hill, seven ski-jumping hills and outdoor and indoor cross-country skiing tracks.

Slovenian pride: Prevc and Planica

Prevc, who had secured the overall World Cup win prior to Planica, cemented his place in the history books with the record 15th individual victory of the season and the 22nd podium finish. The 2015/2016 season established Slovenia as a ski jumping superpower, as Prevc pulled the entire team ahead.
