In a recent Facebook post, former entertainer and political figure Slavi Trifonov has ignited a contentious debate regarding the financial standing of Asen Vassilev, prompted by statements made by Kiril Petkov, leader of the "We Continue the Change" party.

"There Is Such a People" collected 145,193 signatures from Bulgarian citizens for the holding of a referendum to convene a Great National Assembly, which would change the state structure of Bulgaria from a parliamentary to a presidential republic. These signatures are insufficient and such a referendum will not take place.

The leader of "There Is Such a People" Slavi Trifonov has submitted an application refusing to be a representative in the 49th National Assembly, it became known at today's meeting of the Central Election Commission, reports BTA. Trifonov's application was accepted with 12 votes "for" and one "against".

"This time we will have 121 deputies. People felt that in these 7 months we made a very good first step. Yes, the absolute change will take more than 7 months, but the first steps are a fact. A real change happened at Kapitan Andreevo and we stopped pesticides from entering the kitchen of Bulgarians.

"To work towards a more technocratic government with a governing horizon of January 1, 2024."

This is what "Democratic Bulgaria" (DB) co-chairman Hristo Ivanov suggested to bTV. He clarified yesterday in the parliament that if "Democratic Bulgaria" gets the third mandate, it will do everything possible to realize it.

Leader of "There Is Such a People" Slavi Trifonov will sue the resigned Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. This is clear from a statement of the Sofia City Court.

The amount of his claim is BGN 50,000.

With 170 votes "In favor", parliament accepted Democratic Bulgaria's proposal to give a mandate to the Council of Ministers to accept the French presidency's proposal for North Macedonia.

Kiril Petkov will resign as prime minister on Monday morning in order for procedural consultations with the president, to form a new cabinet, to begin. This was said by Petkov himself from Brussels after the EU-Western Balkans meeting.

"On Monday morning. There is no problem. We will fill in the documents immediately and submit them," Petkov said.

"The real reason for this vote of no confidence is four people". This was stated by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov during the debate on the vote of no confidence in the plenary hall.

He got into a verbal dispute with the chairman of the Parliamentary Group of "There Is Such a People" Toshko Yordanov.

Six deputies and the resigned Minister of Sports Radostin Vassilev lost their trust in Slavi Trifonov and left the parliamentary group of "There Is Such a People."
