National Employment Agency: The Unemployment Rate in Bulgaria Remains at Record Low Level
In August 2019 Bulgaria's unemployment was at 5.3% and remains unchanged as compared to the previous month, this country's National Employment Agency announced. Unemployment fell with 0.3 percentage points on an annual basis, BNR reported.
Jobless rate drops to 16.9 pct in second quarter
Greece's jobless rate fell to 16.9 percent percent in April-to-June from 19.2 percent in the first quarter, data by the country's statistics service ELSTAT showed on Thursday.
About 70.8 percent percent of Greece's 805,047 jobless are long-term unemployed, meaning they have been out of work for at least 12 months, the figures showed.

June unemployment drops to 17 pct, lowest since May 2011
Greece's jobless rate fell to 17 percent in June from a downwardly revised 17.1 percent in the previous month, data from the country's statistics service ELSTAT showed on Thursday.
The jobless rate in June was the lowest reading since May 2011.
Unemployment in Bulgaria is Decreasing
More than 30% of workers in the EU countries had irregular work schedules, and 33% had so-called. "Floating" start and end of the work day.
The data is for 2018 and was presented at an international trade union conference in Sofia.

The unemployment rate adjusted for seasonality has gone up to 3.9 pct in July 2019, an increase of 0.1 percentage points as compared to the previous month (3.8 pct), according to the data published on Friday by the National Institute for Statistics.
Joblessness rises in July, reversing downward trend; two-thirds are women
The number of officially unemployed people in Greece increased by 31,389 in July, interrupting a downward trend, the state employment agency OAED announced Tuesday.
This brings the number of registered unemployed to 970,201, of whom 534,528 or 55.09 percent are long-term, that is they have been jobless for at least a year.

NSI: Record Low Unemployment Rate in Bulgaria
The National Statistical Institute reports record low unemployment in Bulgaria. For the second quarter of the year the coefficient is 4.2 percent and compared to the second quarter of 2018 decreased by 1.3 percentage points. The total number of unemployed for the period is 142.0 thousand, of which 82.7 thousand (58.2 percent) are men and 59.3 thousand (41.8 percent) are women.

Eurobank: 2019 jobless average below 18 pct
In its weekly review, Eurobank said that the drop in the jobless rate to 17.2 percent in May, which was announced this week by the independent statistics agency ELSTAT, was an encouraging sign, because it means that the average unemployment rate for 2019 will most likely drop below 18 percent.
