Vesic resigns, says there is sense of moral responsibility in Serbia
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic resigned from his post on Tuesday.
At an extraordinary press conference on Monday evening, Vesic announced he would officially resign following a tragedy in which an overhang collapse at the Novi Sad railway station killed 14 people and seriously injured three others on Friday.
Turkulov: Patients injured in Novi Sad accident remain in severe condition
NOVI SAD - Three patients who sustained serious injuries in Friday's roof overhang collapse at the Novi Sad railway station remain in severe condition and doctors are doing everything they can in the fight for their lives, Vojvodina Clinical Centre Director Vesna Turkulov told Tanjug on Monday.
Serbia to observe day of mourning on Saturday over Novi Sad tragedy
BELGRADE - Serbia will observe a day of mourning on Saturday over a tragic accident in which a roof overhang collapse at the old railway station building in Novi Sad killed eight people on Friday, injuring several others.
The Government of Serbia has declared November 2 a day of mourning in line with the Law on Observance of Days of Mourning in the Republic of Serbia.

In Serbia's second-largest city, Novi Sad, at least eight people lost their lives when a canopy collapsed at the railway station. The incident left 30 others injured.
Among the injured, two have been hospitalized, with one in critical condition.

Jiangsu Lianbo plant opens in Novi Sad suburb
NOVI SAD - Chinese autoparts manufacturer Jiangsu Lianbo ceremonially opened a plant in the Novi Sad suburb of Kac on Thursday.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic, who said Jiangsu Lianbo was a serious, world-renowned company that would have 120 machines in Kac.

At the beginning, Vui expressed that he thought that there had never been so many bridges under construction in Novi Sad.
"In exactly two and a half years, we will have all 47.7 kilometers of the Frukogorsk Corridor completed. I don't think there have ever been so many bridges being built in Novi Sad," he said.
Vucic: Fruska Gora corridor to be completed in two and half years
IRIG - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday the entire Fruska Gora corridor, spanning 47.7 km, would be completed in two and a half years.
Vucic said this during a visit to the construction site of the Iriski venac tunnel near Irig, northern Serbia.
"I think there have never been so many bridges under construction in Novi Sad," he remarked.
