Coal production in Tamnava resumes
KOLUBARA - Coal is being mined again in the Tamnava - Zapadno polje mine pit, the most significant open pit of the Kolubara mining basin which was inundated in the May flooding.
The production in the open pit was restarted in the presence of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, who said that the Serbian energy system will be stable and that there will be no restrictions.

Davenport: EU - Serbia's biggest partner in flood recovery
SMEDEREVSKA PALANKA - Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport visited on Tuesday flood victims in the municipality of Backa Palanka, whose homes are being repaired thanks to the EU funds.
Davenport said that by the end of the year, a total of 600 houses will be repaired in Serbia, 85 of which will be built.
Agreements on construction of flash flood defenses signed
BELGRADE - Agreements on the construction of four flash flood defense units in two municipalities in western Serbia were signed at the Serbian government building on Monday, as part of the project financed by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), according to which a total of 20 flash flood defense units will be built in eight municipalities.

BELGRADE - The first Film and Chips Festival, which focuses on new British film, will be held simultaneously in 10 cities in Serbia January 16-18, 2015, with identical programmes.
According to a statement from Belgrade's Dom omladine, the festival will premiere some of the most recent work by young British authors.

Chinese partners interested in further investments
BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and officials of the China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), which is in charge of the overhaul of Kostolac thermal power plant, said Thursday that the works in the first phase are going as planned, and voiced expectation that the project will be successfully completed and the production resumed in a very short time.

German vice chancellor to visit Belgrade in November
BELGRADE - German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel, who is also minister of economy and energy, will pay a one-day visit to Belgrade in mid-November, the Danas daily reported on Friday.
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic spoke to Gabriel during a working visit to Berlin in late August.
