Tourism, retailers boost construction activity

The rise in construction activity continued in March, not because of any growth in the residential market but due to the investment made at the start of every tourism season in the renovation, upgrading or expansion of tourism accommodation, as well as due to the development of some major retail commerce stores.

Antalya may lose $1.5 billion in tourism revenue this year
The Mediterranean resort province of Antalya's tourism revenue may drop by $1.5 billion this year, as the number of tourists visiting the province, mainly from Russia, has decreased by more than 10 percent, according to the head of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO).

More than 1.7 million tourists visited Greece within the first quarter of 2015. According to the BoG tourism rose by 45.6% compared to the same period in 2014.
Tourism income rose by 12.8% compared to 2014′s first quarter, reaching 532 million euros.
