Two soldiers killed in PKK attacks in Diyarbak?r's Sur

One soldier was killed on Feb. 24 in the Sur district of southeastern province of Diyarbak?r during clashes with outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants, the Turkish General Staff has announced, in addition to another soldier who has succumbed to his injuries 12 days after an attack in the same district.

Anka carries out first missionary flight

Anka, an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), carried out its debut missionary flight in the eastern province of Elaz?? on Feb. 5. 

Taking off from Elaz?? Airport, Anka ("Phoenix" in English) ascended to an altitude of 19,000 feet to carry out a four-hour exploration and observation flight.

Turkish military says met Russian attachés, explained downing of jet

Turkey's military invited Russian military attachés to its headquarters on Nov. 25 to explain that Ankara shot down a Russian fighter jet the previous day because its rules of engagement were invoked after the plane failed to respond to warnings, according to army sources.
