At least 42 people have died in a landslide caused by heavy rainfall in Western Cameroon, local authorities said today, cited by the France Press.

There are reports of dozens more buried beneath the masses following last night's landslide in the western province of Bafoussam, where a rescue operation is underway, province governor Fonka Awa Augustine said.

At least 12 people were killed, including a pastor, in an attack on a church in the capital of the Central African Republic, a medical source said, quoted by DPA.
 
About 30 injured were taken to a hospital in Bangui, a spokeswoman said. The International Doctors Without Borders organization said it had medical help for about 50 injured.
 

Pope Francis on Monday said Christians and Muslims were "brothers", urging them to reject hatred and violence while visiting a mosque in the Central African Republic's capital which has been ravaged by sectarian conflict. 

Protected by the heaviest security ever seen on his trips, Pope Francis on Nov. 29 preached reconciliation in the divided Central African Republic, a nation racked by bloodshed between Muslims and Christians. 

At least 15 people, including a priest, were killed and several others wounded in clashes Wednesday in the capital of the strife-torn Central African Republic, a military source said.
