Elections begin in Serbia
BELGRADE - Early parliamentary and regular provincial and local elections began in Serbia on Sunday.
The polling stations opened at 7 am and will close at 8 pm, which will also mark the end of election silence.

Serbia Holds Early General Elections
Early parliamentary elections along with elections for the assembly of the autonomous province of Vojvodina and for most local assemblies are taking place in Serbia on Sunday.
Polling stations opened at 7 o'clock (CET) and the voting will last until 20 o'clock (CET).
A total of 3270 candidates on twenty electoral lists are competing to win one of the 250 parliamentary seats.

PM to broadcaster: Don't punish reporters on my behalf
Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has described as "disgraceful" the decision of the RTV director to punish a journalist over a question she posed to him.
RTV is the public broadcaster in Serbia's northern province of Vojvodina.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Hungary's Viktor Orban officially opened a new Hungarian-owned factory in Subotica in Serbia's northern province of Vojvodina. The province is home to a significant ethnic Hungarian community.
Opposition politician is "neither for nor against" Vucic
League of Vojvodina Social Democrats (LSV) leader Nenad Canak says he "cannot be attacking someone who is taking over parts of his program."
He made this statement for Belgrade-based weekly NIN, "referring to SNS president Aleksandar Vucic."
Hungarian FM takes part in Serbian ruling party's campaign
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto late on Tuesday took part in a campaign convention of the ruling Serbian SNS party held in Pancevo, near Belgrade.
LSV party leader cleared of bodily harm charges
The Basic Court in Novi Sad has declared Nenad Canak not guilty of endangering Pavle Lesanovic's safety and inflicting light injuries to him during a fight.
Canak, the leader of the League of the Social-Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV), was charged with involvement in the incident that took place in front of a tavern in Novi Sad in September 2012.

Works completed on new Safe House in Sremska Mitrovica
A ceremony in the newly constructed Safe House in Sremska Mitrovica marked the completion of works and the equipping of the facility.
These works lasted about 15 months.
Provincial elections in Vojvodina called for April 24
The president of the assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina on Tuesday called provincial elections.
Istvan Pasztor signed the decision to hold the ballot on April 24, to coincide with parliamentary and local elections.
Prince Charles tours monastery, nature reserve
Britain's Prince Charles on Thursday visited the Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Kovilj, in the province of Vojvodina.
The monks there produce organic honey and brandy, Beta agency has reported.
