OSCE media representative responds to PM

BELGRADE -- OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović has said in a statement that she and Serbian PM Aleksandar Vučić had "a constructive conversation."

Dunja Mijatovic, the OSCE’s media representative, said on Monday that she had spoken to Vucic and had been assured that the Serbian premier would act on the issue despite his demand for apologies for the allegations of censorship against his government.

The Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said that some foreign countries would like to have him dismissed from his present post.

Vucic told the Serbian parliament on Thursday that 51 people died during the floods which hit the country on May 15, while four are still missing. "We hope this is the final number," Vucic said.

Vucic also announced the names of the dead and the missing. Among the victims was a firefighter, he noted.

BELGRADE - Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thrusday the floods in Serbia had claimed 25 lives.

Autopsies have determined that 24 people drowned, including firefighter Dejan Lazarevic, Vucic told the members of the parliament.

One person died in a landslide and another 26 who lost their lives in the flooded areas died of natural causes.
