Water Supply in Some Parts of the Capital Will be Temporarily Suspend
Temporary the water supply in some parts of Sofia will be suspended due to the construction of sewerage and the replacement of street water supply.
On 19 December 2018, in connection with the construction of sewerage and the replacement of street water supply on Balaton Street, in Lyulin district, the water supply will be suspended from 09.00 to 21.00.
Iraklio areas suffer water cuts due to pipe damage
Several areas in Iraklio on the island of Crete suffered from temporary water cuts on Monday due to damage to a major water supply pipe, according to a statement by the municipal water and sewage authority.
The areas affected were Katsambas, Karteros and Prassa in Kallithea.
Local reports said the damage to the pipe was caused by nearby private construction work.

One third of Romania's population not connected to water supply
The population served by the public water supply system represented 67.5pct of Romania's resident population in 2017, in the urban area 96.9pct of the population being connected to the public system, and in the rural area - 33.5pct, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute for AGERPRES on Friday.
Power cut causes day-and-a-half of turmoil on Hydra
The electricity and water supply was finally restored on the Saronic island of Hydra early on Monday afternoon after a day-and-a-half of turmoil for locals and tourists alike.
A power cut, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, left thousands of visitors to the island without running water or air conditioning for around 35 hours.

The glamorous Aegean holiday island of Myconos has been plagued by repeated water cuts this summer due to increased power consumption impacting desalination plants.
Authorities attribute the water shortage to the lower productivity of desalination plants due to power cuts caused by the surge in electricity consumption resulting from the arrival of thousands of visitors on the island.

Water supply to be cut for four days in parts of Lefkada
Authorities on the Ionian holiday island of Lefkada have announced a four-day water supply cut to several villages on the western side of the island.
From Monday and until Thursday, Spanohori, Lazarata, Pinakohori, Kavalos, Asprogerakas, Drymonas, Exanthia, Kalamitsi, Hortata, Komili, Dragano and Athani will be supplied limited quantities of water by municipal authorities.

Turkey will face an agricultural drought in the spring and should start rainwater harvesting according to an evaluation made by one of Turkey’s top meteorologists.
