Fenerbahçe announces club will not continue with Belözoğlu at helm

Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç said on June 1 that Emre Belözoğlu would not continue as the team's manager.

Ali Koç delivered a speech and answered questions on the club's official television channel where he gave Belözoğlu the option to stay on as an assistant manager or leave the team.

Beşiktaş closes in on Turkish Süper Lig title

Beşiktaş increased its points advantage to five in the Turkish Süper Lig after mid-week games as it prepares to take on Hatayspor on May 1.

Its closest rival, Fenerbahçe, was held to a goalless draw at Alanyaspor on April 29, a day after the leader won 3-2 at Rizespor, leading to a huge advantage in the title race for Beşiktaş with four games to go.

Fenerbahçe part ways with manager Erol Bulut

Turkish football club Fenerbahçe mutually parted ways with manager Erol Bulut on March 25. 

The club announced in a statement that Turkish manager Bulut's contract was terminated with mutual agreement.

Emre Belözoğlu, who became the club's sportive director last year, will take over as interim manager until the end of the season, read the statement.

Trabzonspor beats Fenerbahçe, reaches Turkish Cup final

Trabzonspor beats Fenerbahçe 3-1 in the Ziraat Turkish Cup semifinal match on June 16 to advance to final. 

Trabzonspor secured the 5-2 aggregate victory, having won the first leg 2-1 at home in March.

The visitors took the lead in the sixth minute at Ülker Stadium, when Norwegian star Alexander Sorloth scored the opener.

Başakşehir beats Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş wins

A goal in the dying minutes gave last season's runner-up Başakşehir its first-ever league victory at Fenerbahçe on Sept. 9, while defending champion Beşiktaş also won in the Turkish Super League.

Başakşehir went ahead as early as the second minute of the game when Joseph Attamah headed in a ball crossed by veteran midfielder Emre Belözoğlu from the corner kick spot.

Two footballers, former coach testify in luxury car smuggling probe

Two Turkish professional footballers, Başakşehir club's Emre Belözoğlu and Fenerbahçe's Volkan Şen as well as former manager Tayfun Havutçu gave testimonies on May 25 in Istanbul as part of an ongoing probe into the illegal import of luxury cars, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
