Controversial draft law mandates searches for all airline passengers

A draft law proposed by the Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has sparked significant reactions by mandating that all passengers, including judges and prosecutors, undergo searches at airport entrances.

The draft law, which seeks to amend civil aviation regulations, introduces stringent security measures at airports.

Dense fog engulfs Istanbul, disrupts traffic

An intense blanket of fog enveloped Istanbul in the early hours of the Feb. 29 morning, disrupting traffic and causing flight delays.

The fog intensified around the high and northern regions of the Bosphorus and around Trans-European Motorways (TEM) spanning Ümraniye, Kavacık, Altunizade, Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Yavuz Sultan Selim bridges.

Istanbul Photo Awards’ exhibition opens at airport

A second exhibition featuring a selection of the awarded photographs at the international news photography competition Istanbul Photo Awards 2020 opened on Nov. 27 in Istanbul.

The exhibition, organized by Turkey's state-run Anadolu Agency with the sponsorship of Turkish Airlines (THY), will run for a month at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.

Flights between Turkey, UK to resume as of June 11

Daily scheduled flights between Turkey and the U.K. will resume as of June 11, the British Embassy in Ankara announced on Twitter.

"Turkish Airlines will operate 1 daily flight from Istanbul Airport to London Heathrow. Anadolu Jet will be operating 1 daily flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to London Stansted," the embassy said.
