BNR (Romanian National Bank) governor Mugur Isarescu on Monday received the approval of the specialty committees of the Senate and Deputies Chamber for a new tenure, while Florin Georgescu got the approval for a new tenure as First Deputy Governor. They both achieved unanimity. Gheorghe Gherghina, Virgil Stoenescu, Daniel Daianu, Agnes Nagy and Dinu Marin on Monday received the approval for becoming members in the future BNR Board of Directors. Thus, Gheorghe Gherghina obtained 36 votes in favour, Virgil Stonenescu - 35, Daniel Daianu - 34, Agnes Nagy - 33 and Dinu Marin - 28. The BNR Board of Directors is made up of nine members who are appointed by the Romanian Parliament for a 5-year term in office. The President of the Board of Directors is the same with the governor of the National Bank. The current mandate of the BNR Board of Directors expires on October 10, 2014.

* Romanian Parliament is going to hold an extraordinary session in early July, although its activity ends on June 30, the Deputy Senate Speaker Cristian Dumitrescu made an announcement after the meeting of the Standing Bureau of the Senate. "Although the current session of the Parliament will end on June 30, we will most certainly have an extraordinary session in early July, given that, as we hope, the agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the EU will be signed in Brussels on June 27, and Romania wants to be the first country to ratify it," explained Dumitrescu.
