Magic Summer International Festival opens at Romanian Athenaeum on Wednesday

The third edition of the Magic Summer International Festival will bring on the Romanian Athenaeum stage, starting this Wednesday until August 27, a series of concerts performed by Romanian and foreign artists accompanied by orchestras from the Republic of Moldova, Spain, France, Romania, the organisers inform in a release remitted to AGERPRES.

The event, organised by Lanto Communication, will begin on Wednesday with Paganini's Caprices for solo violin, Angel or Demon, performed by Alexandru Tomescu.

Three other concerts are scheduled in July, namely on July 16 — Moldavia's Youth Orchestra, conductor Gabriel Bebeselea, violin soloist Dumitru Pocitari, on July 23 — Valentin Gheorghiu — piano, Roxana Gheorghiu — piano, Mihaela Martin — violin, Marin Cazacu — violoncello, and on July 30 — the Transilvan Quartet — Gabriel Croitoru — first violion, Nicusor Silaghi — second violin, Marius Suarasan — viola, Vasile Jucan — violoncello.

The month of August will open with a concert performed in the first week by the Spanish National Youth Orchestra, conductor Lutz Kohler. On August 12, the Romanian Simfonietta orchestra will take the stage, under the baton of conductor Horia Andreescu, with Adela Liculescu as piano soloist, and on August 13 the public can enjoy chamber music masterpieces performed by Liviu Prunaru — violin, Valentina Sviatlovskaia — violin, Cristian Ifrim — viola, Andra Schlutter — viola, Marin Cazacu — violoncello and Stefan Cazacu — violoncello.

The Romanian Youth Orchestra will perform on August 20, conductor Cristian Mandeal, Maruxa Llorente — piano, and the festival will end on August 27 with the concert of the French National Youth Orchestra.
