Former GNTO Romania bureau chief faces fraud charges

The 57-year-old former manager of a Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) office in Romania is to face charges of breach of faith following an investigation by the financial police.

It emerged on Friday that officers discovered a series of fraudulent offenses had taken place between 2008 and 2011, when the unnamed public servant was in charge of the office.

He is alleged to have illegally signed bank loans on behalf of the GNTO. Also, money was found to be missing from the office’s coffers.
