Family members of Mosul hostages file complaint against Turkish PM, foreign minister
Muammer TaÅdelen, a relative of three of the Turkish hostages kept in Mosul by jihadist militants nearly two months ago, and CHP deputy Umut Oran have filed a criminal complaint on Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoÄan, Foreign Minister Ahmet DavutoÄlu and bureaucrat Ãmer Onhan.
The complaint includes malpractice and neglect.
TaÅdelen, who said his sister Nermin TaÅdelen Yıldız, brother-in-law Hakan Yıldız and one-year-old nephew Kuzey Deniz Yıldız are among the hostages held by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants, presented the complaint to an Ankara court with Oran.
Many of the families are afraid to place judicial complaints he said. âThey remain silent, fearing that something bad would happen to their daughters and sons or they would lose their jobs,â he said.
ISIL kidnapped 49 people from the Turkish Consulate in Mosul on June 11, including 46 Turkish nationals.
