Underwater photos of a model lifting weights

Photographer Jessica Ann Keolaonalani Bacerra photographed model Kathryn Brown lifting heavy rocks and weights at the bottom of an idyllic lagoon in Honolulu, Hawaii.

‘It took an hour and a half of swimming, diving, lifting and positioning ourselves to get all the shots.’

She was inspired to take these stunning and innovative underwater pictures after seeing local people use the sea bed for various energetic activities.

She said: ‘Everyone in Hawaii does underwater rock runs and underwater rock lifting. I’ve never seen anyone use actual weights in the water – I thought it would be an original concept.
