One soldier killed, another wounded in clashes with PKK in eastern Turkey

A specialized sergeant was killed and another soldier was wounded in an armed clash between Turkish security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the Pervari district of the southeastern province of Siirt on Sept. 1. 

The clashes occurred as part of ongoing operations against the PKK in the rural parts of Pervari's Doğan village and the soldier, whose names has not yet been disclosed, was killed in the initial fire opened by the militants.

The wounded soldier meanwhile was taken to Siirt Public Hospital by helicopter.
