Jan Polanc takes pink jersey at Giro d'Italia

Polanc finished sixth in today's stage, 25 seconds behind Italy's Benedetti Cesare, who mastered the stage in 3 hours, 41 minutes and 49 seconds.

Roglič was 24th, being in the group of Giro favourites.

Italian Valerio Conti, who had worn pink jersey so far, was even further behind, so Roglič retained second place in the overall standings.

Cyclists are in for two mountain stages on Friday and Saturday.
