Bulgaria's Budget Surplus Revenues 'to Be Invested in Poorer Regions'

Surplus money registered in the current account balance for the first half of 2016 will be invested into regions that are less developed economically, Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said on Saturday.

He made the announcement while meeting mayors from three northeastern Bulgarian regions.

A Code Yellow warning has been announced for all of Bulgaria's 28 regions, the national weather service says.

Maximum temperatures are expected to hit 33 - 38 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, potentially causing health problems for some people, according to the National Meteorology and Hydrology Institute (NIMH) with the Bulgarian Academy of Science.

Djokovic gets off to successful start in Toronto

TORONTO - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the current world number one in men's tennis, has got off to a successful start at the ATP Toronto Masters tournament after beating Gilles Muller of Luxembourg 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) in the second round Wednesday.

Djokovic won after 104 minutes of play and is now 3-0 head-to-head against Muller.

Biden, Medvedev to visit Serbia soon - report

BELGRADE - US Vice President Joseph Biden and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will visit Serbia after its new government has been formed, most likely in August and September, respectively, Belgrade's Vecernje novosti daily reports.

Biden should arrive in Belgrade on August 18, with Medvedev's visit slated for early September, the daily reported.
