Barzani has one wise and safe option

The discussions the president of the Regional Kurdish Administration (KRG) in northern Iraq, Massoud Barzani, had in Turkey were noteworthy. Barzani met Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım a short while ago in Munich. On his return, he met President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul and then met Yıldırım again in Ankara. 

Power culture

Turkey is no longer polarized. Polarization has reached to such dimensions that as if several "nations of extremes" are living side by side in this country, not only ignoring the sensitivities of the "other" nations but trying to prove their superiority in every way possible. Can this be called "the culture of the powerful"?

A warm walk on ice

A snow white empire in the Lake Çıldır in the eastern province of Kars, where the temperature can hit -20 or -40 centigrade, welcomes us. The lake is completely frozen and stands on a dreamlike geography. Even though the lake freezes in the "empire of ice," life goes on under and above the water surface with all its colors. 

Cevdet Erek to represent Turkey in Venice

"ÇIN," a new work by Cevdet Erek, will be presented at the Pavilion of Turkey at the 57th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia to be held from May 13 to Nov. 26. 

Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), the Turkish pavilion is located at Sale d'Armi, Arsenale, in the main venue of the biennale.
