Turkish owned ship was en route to Tobruk with declared cargo: spokesperson

A Turkish cargo ship, which was attacked by the Libyan military off the Libya coast on May 10, was en route to the port in Tobruk with proven documents and carrying declared cargo, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgiç has said, dismissing allegations that the vessel had been carrying weapons and approaching the city of Derna in Libya. 

'Still here, still bleeding'

I happened to be in Beirut last week. It was a good chance to catch up with Lebanese and regional politics and see friends. Besides, I could follow the Armenian Genocide commemoration. It was a sad week for Lebanon to mark two tragic events, since it also marked the 40th anniversary of the Lebanese civil war. 

Sunni status quo confronts Shiite revisionism in Yemen

With a few days to go before the deadline of the nuclear talks with Iran, a Saudi Arabia-led coalition of forces started to hit rebel positions in Yemen in the early hours of March 26. The move came after a call by President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who was forced to flee the capital Sanaa last month, losing control of large chunks of the country to the Iran-backed, mainly Shiite Houthi forces.
