Church serves as shelter for war-hit Palestinians
Some 400 Palestinians fleeing Israeli raids that have destroyed their neighborhoods have taken shelter in a Greek Orthodox Church in Gaza City.
Desperate Gazans escaping from Beit Hanoun and Shejaia, where more than 70 Palestinians â many of them women and children â were killed on July 20, have entered the Church of Saint Porphyrius after Archbishop Alexios opened the door.

The Gaza death toll hit 341 on Saturday as Israeli warplanes intensified their bombardment and troops pressed a ground assault on the 12th day of a major confrontation with Hamas.
The latest incident saw two men, aged 25 and 31, killed in an air strike near Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, emergency services spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said.
