German court mulls Greek teacher's pay cut return claim
German judges are seeking a European Union court's advice on whether a teacher at a Greek school in Germany can claim back pay cuts caused by Greece's austerity drive.
Radu Gabrea film opens Holocaust Film Festival
'Calatoria lui Gruber' (Gruber's Journey), a film directed by Radu Gabrea opened the first edition of the Holocaust Film Festival at the Museum of Romanian Peasant (MTR) on Tuesday night.

Thousands march against PEGIDA in Germany
More than 17,000 anti-racism demonstrators took to the streets in several German cities on Jan. 19 to voice opposition to the PEGIDA anti-Islamic movement, whose own weekly rally was cancelled over a terrorism threat.
The counter-protests drew smaller crowds than last week, when some 100,000 people called for tolerance nationwide.

Simona Halep wins the WTA Shenzhen Tournament
The Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has won the 500,000-dollar WTA tournament in Shenzhen (China) on Saturday, after sweeping Timea Bacsinszky (Switzerland), #8 seed, 6-2, 6-2.

Tennis: Pair Raluca Olaru - Anna Tatishvili through to Generali Ladies Linz final
The pair made up of Romanian tennis player Raluca Olaru and Georgian-born American player Anna Tatishvili eased into the doubles final of the WTA tournament in Linz (Austria), featuring $250,000 in prize money, after defeating Friday evening 4-6, 7-6 (3), 10-6 No. 4-seeded duo Gabriela Dabrowski (Canada) / Alicja Rosolska (Poland).
Bulgaria Holds Negotiations for Direct Train Sofia – Budapest
Bulgarian State Railways is holding talks with the Romanian and the Hungarian railways to launch a direct train from Sofia to Budapest over Danube Bridge 2.
The train will probably be included in the new schedule as of December 2014, Deputy Transport Minister Anon Ginev told Focus news agency, adding that it will re-connect Bulgaria with Central Europe.
